I had the opportuntity to take part in the citizen's academy offered by my county sheriff's department. Talk about a wide range of experiences! I was only able to get a few pictures, but we covered a wide range of duties performed by the county, such as lake patrol, canine patrol, firearm training at the training facility, a visit to the morgue, courthouse security, jail tours and sweeping jail cells, 911 call center, traffic patrol, a presentation from the crime scene investigators, gang and drug detectives, tactical team and bomb squad.
